Successful Bakery Showcase held in Peterborough

Baker Perkins’ industry showcase events at our Peterborough site provide customers with an update on our latest equipment and process developments - including the chance to see newly built machinery on test - and give a glimpse into our future.

Visitors from the bread industry tell us our recent Bakery Showcase, highlighting our latest bread mixing and forming equipment, was extremely worthwhile and informative.

The programme included the opportunity for a close look at a complete mixing and forming line with a 10,000 loaves/hour capacity waiting delivery to a leading European plant baker - the integrated control system particularly caught the eye.

Demonstrations in our Bakery Innovation Centre highlighted the washdown capability of the Accurist2.1™ divider, and the effect on quality, consistency and efficiency of gentle handling in the Multitex4™ moulder.

A review of future developments that will cut costs and contribute towards clean labels included techniques for ascorbic acid optimisation and gas cell retention. A talk by Andy Flounders from DuPont Nutrition and Health on how the emerging technology of enzymes is also helping towards these goals was greatly appreciated by the delegates.
