Schenck Process Group completes acquisition of Baker Perkins
- Company News
Dan Christie has been appointed Senior Account Manager for bread equipment sales in the USA, responsible for selling Baker Perkins’ systems and services to high-output bread plant bakeries throughout the States.
Dan’s comprehensive experience of Baker Perkins’ equipment and its application comes from his last eight years as the company’s technical director, and from his previous roles in sales, engineering, and manufacturing for the company.
Replacing Dan Christie as engineering director is Dave Rhodea, who joins Baker Perkins from logistics and material handling systems company Dematic. In his 15 years there, Dave worked in project engineering, purchasing engineering, purchasing management and as director of purchasing. He previously worked at Distribution Planning, Inc. where he was a project manager.
Located at Grand Rapids, Michigan, Baker Perkins’ precision forming equipment for plant bakeries offers gentle dough handling and dust free processing. Gentle dough handling preserves the structure developed in the mixer to create the desired texture in the bread with minimum use of improvers and reinforcing agents.
The ability to divide, round, mould and pan the stickiest dough pieces without dusting flour brings cost savings by eliminating the cost of the dusting flour and additional cleaning, as well as the cost of buying and maintaining the flour dusting equipment. Sanitation standards are raised, labor costs reduced, and potential health and safety risks to employees eliminated.
Forming systems based on Baker Perkins’ Accurist2™ dividers and Multitex4™ moulders can be linked to high speed mixing systems to form a complete, integrated mixing and forming system.
A Lifetime Support program is committed to supplying parts, service, upgrades and rebuilds that improve performance and maximize service life. The Baker Perkins Innovation Center provides product and process development capability for customers.
